Eyes of Morath

When this creature stares into the eyes of its target, that target will become stilled, stopping all it is doing, unable to gather its thoughts. The Night`Shade MUST not attack on the turn it attempts to do this.

While in a trance, the Night`Shade can then move to its next victim, leaving the targeted effected without the worry of it doing anything for a time.

The Night`Shade will usually do this to cause its target a high level of anxiety, fear and panic. Then, once the "Duration" has expired, it will allow the targeted to flee. This is the game this creature plays.

Notes:

If the targeted attacks after coming to its senses, the Night`Shade will either flee the scene (so as to continue this chaotic hunt), or simply attack and devour its victim. This is solely to the discretion of the Game Master.

Game Master: Remember that the Night`Shade loves to terrorize its victim for a time before devouring it.

Area of Effect --- : One targeted creature.

Avoidance-Roll - : Yes: Pit Mental-Strength vs. Mental-Strength (single roll check).

Duration ---------- : 1-D2 turns (+ 1-D2 turns per 7 levels the Night`Shade has advanced).

Author's note: Notice the posturing of the Night`Shade, and then look at her expression. She seems calm. She is not. Within her mind chaotically rages a horor she cannot at this point escape. This fiend is not attacking -- it is inflicting intense terror upon its now helpless target. This picture truly depicts the diabolic nature of the Night`Shade.
